Veteran Thomas Why Dead

Thomas Why, aged about 54 years, and a Past Commander of Ellis Post, No. 6, G. A. R., of Germantown, died yesterday afternoon at his home on Wakefield street after a short illness. Deceased was one of the most active members of Ellis Post and a well-known resident of Germantown. He enlisted in Company G, 109th Pennsylvania Regiment, when a little over 15 years of age. He fought all through the Civil War and was wounded at Chancellorsville.
