Hooper, Andrew F.

Company A

Andrew F. Hooper, twenty-three years of age, was shot in the liver, and expired some thirty-six hours afterwards from loss of blood. The deceased, it is said, was shot while endeavoring to secure the body of Colonel Baker. He was a native of this city, and was for many years engaged in the varnishing business. His funeral took place yesterday afternoon, from the residence of his brother, No. 318 Lombard street, and was attended by the members of Enterprise Lodge, I. O. of O. F., and American Glee Club. The City Grays were also in attendance, as an escort to the remains. The deceased leaves a wife and one child to mourn his loss.

George W. Hooper, a brother of the above, was wounded, and is at present in one of the military hospitals at Washington. He is a native of Philadelphia, and joined the regiment of Colonel Baker in this city. He is rapidly recovering from the effects of his wound, and will probably be ready for service in a short time.
