Keffer, Francis J. - Capt

Captain Francis J. Keffer, is reported to be captured. He is very well known in the old district of Spring Garden. He possessed a thorough and ripened military experience, and served in the Mexican war with considerable distinction under Col. Biddle. His company was mostly made up of young men resident in the Spring Garden district. He was married, and kept a confectionery store in Spring Garden street, above Marshall. His wife now carries on the business, which was formerly conducted by the firm of Keffer & Stout. He was erroneously reported dead.
