Wistar, Isaac J. - Lieut Col

Staff Officers

Lieut. Colonel Isaac J. Wistar, of whom we have given a lengthy sketch, was 32 years of age, and the son of Dr. Caspar Wistar, Arch street, above 7th. He was descended from one of the first and wealthiest families in Pennsylvania, and his ancestors have all been men of talent and note. The greater portion of Col. Wistar's life has been passed in adventure, but latterly he has pursued the practice of law in this city. He was unmarried. He received a buck-shot in the right elbow joint that shattered a part of the bone. He was also slightly wounded in the chin. He will not lost his arm. He now lies at the house of a Quaker family named Pleasants, on the Maryland side.
