Pifer, George
George Pifer was a carpenter by occupation and served as justice of the peace in Jefferson County for many years. His father, John Pifer, came from Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, to Jefferson County. He was born on the Atlantic Ocean when his parents were coming to this country from Germany. He fought in the War of 1812.
