Hicks, Robert - Capt.

Company P.

Captain Robert Hicks, badly wounded, resided in Moyamensing avenue, below Morris street, and leaves a wife and two children. He was, of old, purveyor in the city Water Department.

His company was recruited wholly in this city, and was at first ordered to Fortress Monroe. Shortly afterwards it was transferred to Baker's Regiment. Captain Hicks relinquished a lucrative business to enter the service, and few more gallant officers can be found in the country.

Capt. Robert Hicks was for many years purveyor in our Water Department. He was therefore well known to the public. His place of business was at 732 South Second street, but he resided in Moyamensing avenue, below Morris street. It is hoped that his wounds may not prove mortal. He has a wife and several children. His brother left for Washington on receipt of the intelligence of his misfortune.
