Burton, David
David Burton... of Scotch extraction.... came to Erie about 1810-11, and for many years was a wagon-maker, butcher, extensive dealer in cattle from 1863 to 1869, and was also a prominent coal dealer. He served in the war of 1812, and assisted in building Perry’s fleet. [He married] Elizabeth Erwin .... a native of Penn., of German descent.
