WILLIAM H. CHURCH was born in Phelps, New York, and was by occupation a farmer ; he enlisted August 4th, 1862, aged twenty-one years, and participated in the battles of Harper's Ferry and Gettysburg ; he was transferred to the Veteran Reserve Corps, December 2d, 1863, and discharged from the service at the close of the war. Co. I, 126th Regiment Infantry New York, Disaster, struggle, triumph. Dedicated to the 126th Regiment of New York State Volunteers, 1870
