CHARLES BURROUGHS was born in Fayette, New York, and. was a farmer by occupation ; he enlisted August 9th, 1862, aged twenty-three years ; was in the battle of Harper's Ferry, Virginia, September 13th, 14th and 15th, 1862, and discharged for physical disability, at Chicago; Illinois, February 15th, 1863. Co. I, 126th Regiment Infantry New York, Disaster, struggle, triumph. Dedicated to the 126th Regiment of New York State Volunteers, 1870
