SAMUEL E. BLAISDELL was born in Fayette, New York, and by occupation was a wagon maker ; he enlisted August 13th, 1862, aged eighteen years, and was in the following battles : Harper's Ferry, Gettysburg, Auburn Ford, Bristow Station, Mine Run, and Morton's Ford.. On the 4th of April, 1864, he was detached in provost guard at Head-quarters 2d Army Corps, and served with the detachment until the close of the war, when he was discharged with the Regiment. Co. Samuel E Blaisdell
Samuel married Amanda Spalsbury, born Jan 1841 Oaks Corners, Ontario, New York. She was the daughter of Dr John Spalsbury and Catherine Failing Spalsbury. Samuel and Amanda removed to Chicago, Ill before 1870 where they had two children, Edgar D born 1874 and Catherine born 1878. The ended their journey in California, residing with their daughter Catherine and son in law Edward James Foote.
