JOEL C. BURCH was born in Seneca Falls, New York, and by occupation was a farmer ; he enlisted July 26th, 1862, aged twenty-five years ; was appointed corporal, and participated in the battle Harper's Ferry ; deserted at Chicago, Illinois October 20th, 1862. Co. G, 126th Regiment Infantry New York, Disaster, struggle, triumph. Dedicated to the 126th Regiment of New York State Volunteers, 1870. [Page 519 of the book read Joel E.
