YOCUM, ERNEST Private

Son of Joel and Elizabeth Yocum; born April 23, 1894,
Baker, Neb. Moved to Huntington County, Ind. in early life
(exact date not given.) Laborer. Enlisted in Company C,
4th Infantry, Indiana National Guard, Huntington, Ind.,
August 5, 1917. Sent to Camp Shelby, Miss.; assigned to
Battery E, 139th Field Artillery. Died of mumps and influ-
enza April 3, 1918, Camp Shelby, Miss. Buried near Camp
Shelby, Miss.
