Sears, Michael S.
Michael S. Sears died January 25, 1925. He was born in Lowell, September 15, 1846, son of Robert and Ellen (Garvey) Sears. When a young boy his parents removed to Brattleboro, and later to Halifax, Vt. At the age of fifteen enlisted in Co. K, 9th Vermont Infantry; promoted to Corporal February, 1864; mustered out June 13, 1865. Mr. Sears had been a resident of Greenfield fifty-eight years, twelve of which he had served on the local police force.
