Carroll, John C.

John C. Carroll, a former resident of Millers Falls, died May 30, 1917, aged 73 years. Born in Ireland, son of Michael Carroll, he came to this country at the age of ten, and his early life was spent in Greenfield and Northfield. For twenty-five years before his retirement he had been employed by the Millers Falls company. He enlisted September 25, 1861 in Co. F, 1st Vermont regiment of cavalry and while in the service was twice made prisoner; mustered out April 7, 1865; member of Edwin E. Day Post [GAR].
