Mitchell Boisclair Butts, 86, of Kennesaw, Ga., died Wednesday, March 2, 2005. A private graveside service will be held on Friday, March 4, at 1 p.m., at Pine Ridge Memorial Park. Interment will follow.
Butts served on General George S. Patton’s officer staff in France and Germany during World War II. He attended Annapolis Naval Academy and graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in civil engineering. He was the founder and first president of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity at MSU. Butts was also a member of the Acworth Chapter of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Cleada Norton Butts of Kennesaw, GA; two sons, Stephen Mitchell Butts of Auburn, Wash., Gary Boisclair Butts of Atlanta, GA; two daughters, Sallie Butts Nobles of Canton, GA., Rebecca Butts Hill of Acworth, GA.; one sister, Marguerite Butts Hunnicutt of Blythville, AR.; grandchildren, Suzanne Nobles Lonidier, Jeffrey Norton Nobles, Mary Margaret Nobles, Kenneth Lee Levingston, Ryan Mitchell Levingston, Paul David Levingston, Nathan Mitchell Butts and Stephanie Marie Butts and six great-grandchildren.
